What do Millennial lawyers want? What drives them? How can law firm leaders better understand them and how to work with them in order to create a harmonious and productive workplace?

I'm joined by lawyer, author, speaker, and law career counselor Susan Smith Blakely, author of What Millennial Lawyers Want to chat all about Millennial lawyers.

Susan and I explore why finding meaning in one's career is so important to young lawyers, what lessons we can learn from lawyers of the Greatest Generation, and how we can all make the profession a a better place going forward.

If you’re convinced that you have a powerful message, valuable insight, or helpful experience when it comes to your practice area or business subject matter, then you must share it with the world. This particular episode is focused on one way you can do that using live streaming video but ultimately, the platform doesn’t matter. The message and your dedication to consistently showing up and sharing your knowledge is what will help you build brand awareness and grow your business.

I’m joined by livestreaming coach and trainer, speaker, and author, Jenny Q. Jenny Q has been in the digital and social media marketing space for many years, and now she teaches professionals how to use live video to build their brands. She literally wrote the book on livestreaming, called Leverage Livestreaming to Build Your Brand: Start, Master, and Monetize Live Video.

Jenny shares why all lawyers should be using live video to build their practices and even walks us through the exact process of starting, delivering, and ending our live broadcasts powerfully.

Whether you love it or hate it, you can’t ignore the importance of technology in helping change the legal profession. If you’re hoping to continue to build an innovative law practice that differentiates itself based on its services and/or that offers a product that helps bridge the access to justice, you’ll be interested to hear what my guest today has to say about how lawyers are using technology to accomplish these goals.

Joining me for this conversation is former litigator and current Founder and CEO of Theory and Principle, a legal technology product design and development firm, Nicole Bradick. Nicole is an expert in the legal tech space and super knowledgeable about building great legal products.

Many Millennials are at a point in their lives where they’re thinking about having or are already having babies.  The thought of having children while managing a full workload as a lawyer can be stressful because, lets face it, being a parent is a full time job on its own.  So if you’re considering starting a family, are currently pregnant, or already have a kiddo, what can you be doing right now to best prepare yourself for parenthood while also running your law practice?

I’m joined by Family Law attorney and Certified Family Law Specialist in Redondo Beach, Ca, Lovette Mioni. Lovette runs her own law practice and along with her husband, is raising two young children. She joins me to talk about how having children affected her business and changed her view of how she wanted to practice. She talks to me about what she had to do to prepare her assistant and those she worked with to carry on with office work while she was on leave and what she did to manage her client’s expectations while she was unavailable.

Are you inching closer and closer to burnout? Be honest! You might be. It’s fairly common for high achievers to burn out, especially if they’re not taking care of themselves physically and mentally. That’s what happened to me at the end of last year, 2018, when I found myself facing a breakdown of the sort I’ve never experienced before. I had been busy trying to grow my business for two years that I drove myself into the ground.

Luckily, I discovered meditation and yoga right at the 11th hour. In this episode, I share a personal story about how I how I spent 2 years building a business that led me to a breakdown, the one thing I did that proved to be a breakthrough, how I became 10% happier, and how you can too.

Joining me for segments of this conversation are attorneys and yoga and meditation instructors Lee Holcomb and Joanna McCracken of www.lawyersandyoga.com
